Hanatarash - Maw

Maw is Hanatarash's second LP. It's a lot different to its predecessor, Hanatarashi - the most ridiculous samples are used as introductions (my personal favourite is that of 'Vortex Shit'), songs including merely a snare drum and guitar (lasting less than ten seconds) are included ('Boat People Hate Fuck'), and a sample of a Butthole Surfers song is also crammed into this mess of an album ('Pisshole Surfers').

Maw is, hands down, one of my favourite noise releases.

Vatican Shadow - Byzantine Private CIA

Vatican Shadow make(s) noise/industrial music. I have no clue as to the member(s) of this group - or any information for that matter. The only things I do know are that this cassette was released on Hospital Productions, and that this release is worth hearing in my opinion.

Alberich - Penis Womb

I can't find any information on Alberich apart from the fact that this cassette was released on Hospital Productions in 2008. Some nice sounding noise; I downloaded this today, I like it.

Another long wait (Apologies, Pt. 253)

I haven't updated this since November. A lot has happened since then though:

- I got a wonderful girlfriend. She's in the year below me at school; she likes Merzbow, Prurient, Whitehouse, Jandek, and a lot of other bands you wouldn't expect a 15-year-old girl to listen to. Brilliant!

- I took three science exams - biology, chemistry and physics. I feel I did okay on all three, not too happy about how I did on the chemistry paper though. I get the results soon.

- I received a 500GB hard drive for Christmas - MORE MUSIC.

I'll start uploading now. And those Taylor Bow links are really starting to get on my nerves...

Exercise - Field of Dreams

I can't find any information on Exercise apart from the fact that his birth name is Mike Pollard and is a member of the drone group Color Dream.

Psychedelic drone, and pure bliss. Field of Dreams has to be one of my favourite drone releases of 2009.

Arizona Jaguar - 1993-2009

Arizona Jaguar is a collaboration between Driphouse and two members of Color Dream. The trio plays ambient and drone.

I'm listening to 1993-2009 (it's a debut release, not a compilation) as I type this, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Very recommended.

Cartoon Drips - Dripping in the 6th Dimension

Cartoon Drips is another of Josh Burke's sixteen solo projects.

Dripping in the 6th Dimension
reminds me greatly of Sam Gas Can's Tuxedo Road - cartoon soundtracks tampered with to the point of unidentification.

Ancient Ruins of the Peruvian Mind - Sacred Vision

I believe Ancient Ruins of the Peruvian Mind is just one of the sixteen solo projects of Josh Burke. Burke is also in three bands and runs four record labels. Prolific.

Sacred Vision is a short yet haunting noise release. I've listened to this two or three times this week and my view on it is improving.

Dirty Beaches - Dirty Beaches

Dirty Beaches is the project of Alex Zhang Hungtai. Hungtai was born in Taiwan and was raised between Toronto and Hawaii.

This cassette is hypnotic. I've listened to it a lot lately because it's so easy to enjoy.

Posting at Last

I've had so many things to do recently - mostly school work - that I haven't been able to post. I can now, and I'm going to post a lot today.

Also, I've fixed the link for Taylor Bow's Thin Air.

Albero Rovesciato - Tigers on Acid in the Hell of the Brushwood

Albero Rovesciato are a free improvisation/noise group originally from Italy; they now reside in Berlin, Germany. Their releases tend to focus on items of percussion, and what seems like household items picked at random.

I haven't been able to find this anywhere so I bought it on the Singing Knives Records MySpace. The image above is my own scan. I received it yesterday and an unmentioned Hunter Gracchus CD was included. I was happy about that, I'll post that CD today as well.

Universal Indians - Thrist of the Worm

Universal Indians is a noise/free improvisation trio formed in Lansing, MI, in 1993. The original members were Gretchen Gonzales, John Olson (soon to be of Wolf Eyes fame) and Bryan Ramirez. However, Ramirez left the band and was replaced by Aaron Dilloway (who would also be a member of Wolf Eyes).

Thrist of the Worm is a single-sided LP. I enjoyed it, so maybe you will too.

Whatever Brains - Saddle Up

Thanks to an extremely kind person commenting on my Mt. Whatever post, I now have the second EP from weirdo punk band Whatever Brains. Saddle Up is slower compared to Mt. Whatever. To be honest, I think I prefer this EP.

Taylor Bow - Thin Air

Thin Air is Taylow Bow's debut LP. A complete stranger recommended this release to me over a file sharing program and requested I grab it "before all the hipsters take it first". Thin Air is a step up from Hate Fuck, with longer songs so that there is a chance to enjoy them.

Tranquilizer - Tranquilizer

Tranquilizer were a noisecore band formed in Hokkaido, Japan. The band was active during the 1980s.

The band released two flexi-disc EPs. However - and unfortunately - I can only find the first EP. The release blends furious noisecore and hardcore punk together. I have seen a review describing the release as "a race with a lawnmower and a vacuum cleaner to see who can explode first". Perfect description.
